10 Best Stable Disc Golf Putters That Go Straight

As players soon realize when picking up the sport, disc golf is not as easy as it may look, and that the correct form is much more difficult to pick up on and become proficient at.

Sure, anyone can go out and play a round and have a lot of fun, but the challenge sets in when you really bear down to improve your form, accuracy, and throwing distance.

One of the best things a new player who is learning disc golf can buy to learn proper form, and aid them in getting better at release angles, is a straight flying disc.

Specifically, a straight flying putter, known as a stable putter.

Stable putters are not going to generate maximum distance for you compared to mid-ranges and drivers that you'll eventually pick up and throw.

Nor will they only be good for you when actually putting, as they're much more versatile than that.

Straight flying putters can be an excellent tool to have in your bag to use right off the tee, or from the fairway when you need a simple, straight approach to the basket.

These putters are also excellent choices when you need to put just a little bit of touch on the disc when close to the basket to prevent a big skip.

In previous articles, we've discussed the

that can be used for stout headwinds, situations requiring a lot of fade, or when a forehand approach is needed.

We've also discussed the

that can be used for situations that require just a little bit more distance than what a putter can accomplish.

So now we're going to take a look at some the best and most popular straight flying, stable putter options out there today that players are regularly using.

Why bag a stable putter?

Stable putters make for excellent beginner discs because they can often be described as "point and shoot", meaning that generally speaking, they're going to go where they are thrown in a nice straight line.

This requires a lot of accuracy as the discs are not going to fade back towards the basket if you slightly miss your line. So it teaches you accuracy in terms of both precision and power.

Additionally, stable putters are often very efficient at holding whatever line they're put on, whether it's hyzer, flat, or anhyzer. Which can help teach a player how to manipulate release angles.

More experienced players like using stable putters because they often are much more accurate than new players and desire a putter that they can simply, "point and shoot".

It's worth noting that we are describing these putters with their throwing qualities, but they can absolutely be used for putting as well if you so desired, and many players will bag the same disc in different plastics for that very reason.

Basic plastics may grip better for putting, but premium plastics may hold their flight ratings longer.

So experiment with different molds and plastics to figure out what you want!

Heavier weights will also be preferred to help fight the wind.

That all being said, let's finally take a look at the
